They want to own the stars above our heads.
It is the end of the 22nd century. Earth is a post-climate, post-capitalist utopia led by a federalized United Nations. The planet flourishes. But at the edge of the solar system, the hateful engines of corporations still roar. The enslavers turn their eyes interstellar; humanity has not yet cast off the old world. So the United Nations, swept by a tide of rage and fervor, surges into its final war.
Our mandate is peace forever.
For the past three years, I have been developing the world of 2182, and I thought SSP was the perfect time to actually get words on the page. I was not intending to finish the book, but rather, to set myself up with a consistent schedule that I could continue into the summer.
I worked with Ms. Mac for this activity. Every week, I would turn in my pages, and we would discuss the language, characters, narrative arcs, moments of interest, and future directions. Ms. Mac helped me feel more confident in my writing, and she also provided invaluable guidance from the reader's perspective. Thank you, Ms. Mac!
